How to add text to pdf

  1. Select your PDF. Choose or drag in the document that needs text on it.
  2. Type your text. Enter the words: a label, a date, a stamp like APPROVED.
  3. Position it. Pick one of nine positions, set the font size and color, and choose the pages.
  4. Download. Press Add text and download the updated PDF. Nothing is uploaded.

Why add text to a PDF?

A PDF is meant to be a finished artifact: the format exists precisely so a document looks the same everywhere and resists casual editing. That's a strength until you need one small addition after the fact: a date stamp on an invoice, an APPROVED mark on a purchase order, a reference code on every page of a tender, a short note explaining an attachment. The change is trivial in principle, yet the usual path (converting back to Word, editing, and re-exporting) risks shuffling your fonts, spacing and page breaks for the sake of five words.

This tool skips that round trip. You type the text, choose one of nine anchored positions (the corners, the edge midpoints, or dead center) and set the font size and color. Because placement snaps to those anchors with a consistent margin, stamps and labels line up neatly across every page instead of drifting by a few pixels each time, which is exactly what you want for repeated marks like a status label or a document number.

You control which pages receive it, too: a single page, a range like 1-5, or a scattered set such as 1, 4, 8-10. That makes it easy to stamp only the signature page of a contract, or to code every sheet of a multi-part submission with the same identifier. Text is set in Helvetica and embedded automatically, so it renders identically on every device that opens the file.

Crucially, what you add becomes part of the PDF's real text layer rather than a flattened picture of words, so it stays selectable, searchable and copyable like the original content. And since every character is written into the file locally in your browser, a sensitive invoice or agreement is never uploaded just to gain a line of text.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The text is drawn onto the pages entirely in your browser; the file never leaves your device.

Can I place text at an exact spot?

This tool places text at one of nine positions (corners, edges, center) with a consistent margin, right for stamps, labels, dates and notes. For pixel-exact placement, the classic route is adding a text box in a full PDF editor.

Which pages get the text?

Any you list: a single page (3), a range (1-5), or scattered picks (1, 4, 8-10). The same text, size and position is applied to each.

What fonts are available?

Helvetica: clean, universally supported, and embedded automatically so the text looks the same on every device.

Is the added text selectable?

Yes. The text becomes part of the PDF's real text layer, so it can be selected, searched and copied like any other text.
