About PDFSomething

PDFSomething is a collection of free online PDF tools built around one simple idea: your files should stay yours.

Many everyday tasks, such as merging, splitting, or rotating a PDF, can run locally in a modern browser. That is how I built the browser-processed tools. Files used with those tools stay on your computer or phone. Word to PDF, PDF to Word, Protect PDF, Unlock PDF, Repair PDF and OCR PDF instead upload files for temporary server processing.

I also think tools should be fast and honest. No forced sign-ups, no watermarks on your output, no "you've used your free task for today" walls in the middle of a simple job. Each server-processed tool explains its upload before file selection. These tools create temporary files and attempt cleanup when processing ends, without promising immediate or secure deletion.

How the site stays free

Running the site costs very little precisely because most processing happens in your browser. To cover what it does cost, I show a small amount of advertising through Google AdSense, but never pop-ups, fake download buttons, or ads that get in the way of the tool.
