Why extract pages from a PDF?
Extracting is about keeping, not cutting. Instead of hacking a big document down page by page, you name the pages you want and the tool assembles them into a brand-new PDF, leaving your original exactly as it was. That framing suits any moment when you need part of a file rather than the whole thing: one invoice from a monthly batch, a single form out of an onboarding packet, or the three pages of a long report that your colleague actually asked for.
Pages are collected by range. Type something like 1-3, 5, 8-10 and the new document will contain pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, and 10. And regardless of the order you type those ranges, the extracted pages come out in ascending order, so the result reads naturally. Each page is copied at full fidelity, meaning selectable text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution in the new file.
It helps to know how this differs from the neighbouring tools. Extract always produces a single combined PDF of your chosen pages. If instead you want to burst a document into one file per page, the Split tool does that; if you want to throw pages away and keep the remainder in place, Delete Pages is the better fit. Extract shines when you know precisely which pages you want to walk away with.
Because the work is done by your browser rather than a remote service, the source document stays on your machine from start to finish. You can pull a couple of pages out of a confidential file and share only those, confident that the full original was never uploaded anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Extraction happens in your browser; the file never leaves your device.
What's the difference between extract and split?
Extract pulls a chosen set of pages into one new PDF. Split can also break a document into one file per page. Use whichever matches your goal.
Are the extracted pages kept in order?
Yes. Pages are added in ascending order regardless of how you type the ranges.
Is there a quality loss?
No. Pages are copied exactly, so text and images are preserved.
