Why merge PDF files?

A stack of separate PDFs is a small headache that shows up everywhere. The person on the other end has to open each file in turn, guess the right sequence, and hope none went missing in the email thread. Combining everything into one document removes that friction: it opens in the order you set, prints as a single job, and files away as one attachment instead of a scattered handful.

The everyday uses add up quickly. Job seekers bundle a cover letter, résumé, and references into one application packet. Freelancers and small businesses join a quote, contract, and terms into a single document to sign. Students assemble chapters, figures, and a bibliography into one submission, and households gather receipts, warranties, and statements into a tidy record for taxes or an insurance claim.

A couple of habits make the result cleaner. Put the files in their final reading order before you merge, since the sequence in the list is exactly the sequence in the output. If a document already carries a cover page or a blank separator, decide whether you want it in the combined file or trimmed afterward. Because pages are copied across untouched, selectable text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution: merging never re-compresses your content.

This all happens right here in the page. The moment you pick your files they are read into your browser's memory and worked on locally; nothing is transmitted to us or anyone else, which is what makes it safe to combine contracts, pay slips, or medical paperwork that you would never want sitting on a stranger's server.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool merges your PDFs entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device and are not sent anywhere. When you close the tab, they are cleared from memory.

Is there a file-size or file-count limit?

You can merge up to 30 PDFs at once, with each file up to 100 MB and a combined total of 200 MB. These limits exist to keep the tool responsive on phones and low-memory computers, since everything runs on your own device.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. The tool works in modern mobile browsers such as Chrome on Android and Safari on iPhone. Very large files may be slower on older phones because processing uses your device's memory.

Will the merged PDF have a watermark?

No. There are no watermarks, no sign-up, and no cost. You get a clean merged PDF.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Not directly. If a file is encrypted, remove its password first, then merge. This protects you from accidentally combining files you don't have the rights to open.

Does merging reduce quality?

No. Merging copies the original pages exactly as they are into one document, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution.
