Why delete pages from a PDF?
Almost every real-world PDF carries pages nobody wants to look at. Scanners insert blank sheets between documents, faxes tack on a cover page, downloaded statements bury the numbers under pages of legal boilerplate, and marketing PDFs pad useful content with adverts. Deleting those pages leaves a cleaner, shorter document that gets to the point and takes up less space.
You choose exactly what goes by listing pages the same way you would read them aloud: single numbers and ranges separated by commas, such as 2, 4-6 to drop page 2 and pages 4 through 6 in one step. Everything you don't name is kept and stitched back together in its original order, so the pages you care about stay exactly where they were.
A few situations are worth thinking through before you commit. The tool always keeps at least one page, because a PDF with no pages isn't a document you could open. Password-protected files are refused until the password is removed, including files that open freely but restrict printing. The pages you keep are copied across without re-compression, so text stays selectable and images hold their resolution, and document properties such as Title and Author travel with the file. Interactive form fields are the exception: they stop being fillable even on kept pages. Keep the original and check the download before you rely on it.
All of this runs on your own device. The file is opened in your browser, the unwanted pages are removed locally, and the trimmed PDF is prepared for download without ever being sent to a server, which matters when the pages you are removing contain private details you would rather not transmit anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Pages are removed inside your browser; the file never leaves your device.
How do I specify pages?
Use commas and hyphens, for example 2, 4-6 removes pages 2, 4, 5 and 6.
Can I delete all the pages?
No. At least one page must remain, otherwise there'd be no document to download.
Does the rest of the document change?
The pages you keep are copied into a new document and are not re-compressed, so text stays selectable and images keep their resolution. Document properties such as Title and Author are carried across. Interactive form fields are the exception: they stop being fillable, even on pages you keep, so keep an unmodified copy of any form you still need to fill in.
What if my PDF is password-protected?
The tool stops and asks you to remove the password first. This applies both to files that need a password to open and to files that open freely but restrict printing or copying. Unlock a file you own or are authorized to unlock, then delete pages from the unlocked copy.
Will deleting pages make the file much smaller?
Usually not. A PDF's size normally comes from embedded images rather than page count, so removing text-only pages can leave the size almost unchanged. Use Compress PDF if a smaller file is the goal.
